artistic relationship with movement, body-awareness and composition. Inspired by the work of Ann Green Gilbert, the Global Somatics® Process and Body-Mind Centering®, this program fosters creative ideas, self-confidence and nuanced whole body integrative techniques. Moving Together, ages 1-3 with adult
Tuesdays 4:30-5:00, $60 Connect with your little one through movement, story, song and touch. We will explore developmental movement patterns, shape making, and open dancing together. |
Creative Movement, ages 3-6
Tuesdays 5:15 -6:00, $90 Through songs, verses, movement and music, Creative Movement facilitates brain/body learning of dance concepts and somatic developmental movement. |
Creating Dance, ages 7 -12
Wednesdays, 3:30-4:45, $130 Exploring dance through improvisation, body awareness and technique, dancers begin to experience choreography and somatic principals to broaden their kinesthetic learning. Working individually and in groups, we discover the many ways to find and create dance. |

BodyEcology is a movement workshop acknowledging how our bodies relate with the natural environment. How does the awareness of your mind and body affect your relationship to place? Embodied somatic practices inviting our breath, touch, and sensory explorations help us understand our anatomy as an ecosystem. We will walk and wander through our abundant spring surroundings and invite a sensory filled immersement with the wildnerness in us and around us!
Class will be held both indoors and outdoors. Register: https://kvronline.wi.gov/KVRProducts.aspx The Storied Body: A community workshop in dance, movement and performance with Lynn Bowman and Mandy Herrick Guest Artist Lynn Bowman (Alma, Michigan) and Mandy Herrick will facilitate different ways of creating movement and composing dance—using inspiration from stories held in the body and somatic inquiry. We will discover the dance artist in all of us. This workshop is ideal for any person 13+ who is interested in learning how to create/dance/ choreograph in a supportive environment. Some movement training (dance, circus, sports, folk dance, yoga, etc) is helpful but not required. Lynn has been schooled in dance at Ballet Quad Cities School of Dance, Luther College BA, The University of Iowa MFA, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London) and Central Michigan University MA.
